Mr SOUTHWICK (Caulfield) — I rise to support the government’s business program. It is a very important program which will deliver the budget on this momentous occasion. In this program three important bills will be addressed — the Crimes Amendment (Bullying) Bill 2011, on which we hope to move forward and hear some vigorous and very important debate as to why it should be passed; the Dental Hospital Land Bill 2011; and the Family Violence Protection Amendment (Safety Notices) Bill 2011. They are three very important bills, but of most importance is the budget.
Government members are very proud of this year’s budget. It is something we will hear much discussion about from my colleagues and something that is well and truly overdue. The people of Victoria now have something to look forward to — a budget with a vision, which will take Victoria into the future. It is long overdue. We have had 11 years of waste and mismanagement, and it is time we had a budget with a vision for the future.
Motion agreed to.
