David Southwick MP, Member for Caulfield today welcomed the Napthine Government’s $12 million investment into the 2015- 2017 Engage program. The funding assists local initiatives that help build the skills needed for life after school.
“I am pleased to invite community groups in the Caulfield electorate to apply for grants of up to $150,000 to deliver initiatives, including volunteering and mentoring programs, for and with our young people” said Mr Southwick.
“The Victorian Coalition Government’s $12 million 2015 – 2017 Engage program is an example of our commitment to young Victorians. The program will provide more opportunities for young people to become involved in their own community.
“The funding will support organisations, including councils, to deliver a wide range of initiatives including volunteering and mentoring programs, and projects that boost real-life skills and connect young people to further education, training or careers.
Since 2012 young Victorians have had access to a range of fantastic initiatives that have helped to develop new skills and build their networks.
“Over 100,000 young Victorians have been involved in Engage programs since 2012. They have been success on many levels, most importantly in peoples’ lives.
Applications close on Friday 1 August. For more information or to apply visit www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au or contact David Southwick’s office on 9527 3866.
