Christmas and the festive season is a special time to reflect on the year that was and enjoy the company of friends and family. Sadly, not everyone is able to celebrate the festive spirit.
Continuing the Victorian Coalition tradition, Leader Matthew Guy MP and Member for Caulfield David Southwick MP today visited the Mirabel Foundation to deliver Christmas cheer with presents donated through the annual Victorian Coalition Christmas Drive for Mirabel.
The Mirabel Foundation are an organisation which supports children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use and are now in kinship care.
Member for Caulfield, David Southwick MP who organised this initiative said it was always a special moment delivering gifts to the children supported by Mirabel.
“Each year the Victorian Coalition hosts a gift drive to spread joy to the children and families supported by the Mirabel Foundation,” Mr Southwick said.
“Every child deserves to unwrap a present and feel loved, which is why the annual Victorian Coalition Christmas Drive for Mirabel is a favourite event in the Coalition’s calendar.
“This year we opened up the opportunity to the community to donate gifts, and the response has been great and demonstrated the generosity of Victorians,” Mr Southwick added.
