Beth Rivkah Students tour the Parliament of Victoria

On Monday 11 May 2015, Member for Caulfield David Southwick MP gave the Year 6 students of Beth Rivkah Girls College a tour of Parliament House Victoria.

Following the tour, students had the opportunity to form mock political parties, creating policy and discussion. The mock-parties included: the Victorious Violets, Ready Steady Go, Yo Yellow, Pinkalicious, Bluebell and Super Silver.

Ideas included having homework sent on the computer to save paper, having swimming as a Summer sport instead of a Winter and having a comfortable, clean and modern sick bay.

Other suggestions included: nail polish all week long, chewing gum allowed during school and casual clothes.

“It’s fantastic to see young students really engaged and thinking about ideas for their school and future,” Mr Southwick said.
