The 2015-16 Victorian Labor budget has failed the electorate of Caulfield. During the 2014 State election, both the Coalition and Labor committed $9.5 million to rebuild Glen Eira College.
The recent 2015-16 Victorian State Budget has seen only 10% ($950,000) committed for Glen Eira College.
Local residents have expressed their great disappointment over another Labor lie, with a budget that claims to deliver for families and education but has left the constituents in Caulfield with a failed election commitment.
David Southwick, Member for Caulfield said he is bitterly disappointed by the treatment given to Glen Eira College by Daniel Andrews.
“I have witnessed the growth of Glen Eira College through the strong leadership of Principal Sheereen Kindler and her skilled staff,” Mr Southwick said.
“The reality is that the current facilities do not match the quality of teaching in addition to the increase of students at the school.
“This budget has failed Glen Eira and the residents of Caulfield yet again by a government who cannot keep a promise. Glen Eira College has been short-changed, Labor are delivering nothing more than a front door.”
Glen Eira College is the only government secondary school in the electorate of Caulfield. Mr Southwick MP has vowed to work closely with Glen Eira College to ensure they get their promised funding for a vital redevelopment.
