The reveal of Daniel Andrews’ secret plans to build a 13 storey skytower at Ormond Railway Station as part of the North Road level crossing removal has left locals shocked. Click here to read The Age’s article.
The level crossing removal was fully funded by the former Coalition Government in the 2014-15 Victorian budget, however Labor now says the skytower is needed to pay for the costs.
Victorians were never told about skytower. The North Road level crossing plans presented to the public and Council never had a 13 storey tower in them. We never voted for skytower in a lowrise area. The skytower will overshadow what was meant to be a great project for the community, with increased congestion, less parking, loss of amenity and more construction and disruption in the area. Have your say and sign the petition for no skytower.
