Daniel Andrews stubbornly refuses to release his own report into the fire risks of Victoria’s electricity networks.
This inaction comes as Energy Safe Victoria confirms network poles and wires have caused 252 fires between October 2015 and July 2017 – a rate of around 11 a month.
Victoria faces an energy infrastructure crisis, with up to 90,000 Victorians suffering blackouts over summer, proving our transmission and distribution networks are not up to scratch.
Despite almost a decade passing since the Black Saturday fires, Labor still hasn’t fixed this problem and refuses to be honest with the Victorian people.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, David Southwick MP:
“Daniel Andrews needs to release this report and get on with fixing our energy networks – 11 fires a month is simply unacceptable.
“A decade after the Black Saturday fires, Daniel Andrews still refuses to act and ensure regional Victorian’s safety.”
