A Liberal Nationals Government will help Victoria’s community organisations cut their skyrocketing power bills through a $4 million Community Solar Grants Program.
Daniel Andrews has lost control of cost of living pressures and left Victorians paying more than ever for power.
As part of the Community Solar Program, two additional grants will be awarded to fund solar installations at kindergartens in Bentleigh, $6,500 for Bentleigh West Kinder and $11,000 for Centre Road Kinder.
These two grants are additional to the $9,500 grant for Brady Road Kindergarten announced last week.
Under the Liberal Nationals’ Community Solar Program, kindergartens such as these and other community groups will be eligible to receive grants of up to $40,000 on a dollar-for-dollar matched basis to install solar panels to help cut their skyrocketing energy bills.
This policy comes on back of the Liberal Nationals’ recently announced plan to install solar and batteries for 100% of suitable Victorian Public Schools by 2025.
Only a Matthew Guy Government will get back in control of power prices and ease cost of living pressures for all Victorians.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Renewables, David Southwick:
“Only a Matthew Guy Government will get renewables right and help local community groups cut their power bills.
Renewables are the future and we are committed to supporting solar projects that make sense and can deliver benefits to the entire community.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Bentleigh, Asher Judah:
“Rising cost of living pressures are hurting families in Bentleigh, this announcement is an important step in the Liberals’ plan to get back in control of our power bills.
I went to Centre Road Kindergarten 35 years ago. It is a pleasure to be investing in the Kindergarten which gave me so much.
A Matthew Guy Government will get renewables right and ensure all Victorians can share in the benefits of solar on our community buildings.”
