The Victorian Liberal Nationals are saddened to hear of the passing of former Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police, Sinclair Imrie “Mick” Miller AO, LVO, QPM.
Mick will be remembered for a distinguished 40 year career with Victoria Police, during which time he served as Officer in Charge of the Gaming (Special Duties) Branch, and later the Vice Squad and Detective Training School.
Mick’s policing career culminated with a ten year tenure as Victoria’s Chief Commissioner, during which time he introduced a number of key initiatives, including integrating women into Victoria Police, providing greater career opportunities for female officers and establishing the Special Operations Group.
Following his retirement from Victoria Police, Mick Miller continued to serve the community.
On behalf of the Victorian Liberal Nationals, we express our sympathies to Mick’s family, friends and Victoria Police colleagues at this time.
