As Parliamentary Secretary for Police and Emergency Services I have the great pleasure of working with the Minister and my government colleagues to deliver real reform for Victorians.
The Coalition Government are delivering the largest investment in law and order in the history of this State. In the 2013-14 Budget we committed to properly resource Victoria Police, delivering $2.3 billion in output funding, and $602 million in the largest recruitment of frontline police ever, 1700 new police in a single term of government.
I am committed to ensuring Caulfield residents have access to excellent public transport and the ability to move easily around our great city.
The Coalition Government has committed to a comprehensive $13.3m redevelopment of Balaclava Railway Station as well as planning to remove the level crossing at North Road, Ormond. The Victorian Government will deliver stage 1 of the East West Link at a total capital cost of $6-8 billion. As a nation-building piece of major infrastructure, a funding contribution of $1.5 billion from the Commonwealth Government will be required to ensure its timely delivery.

I believe that a first class education and training system is the best way to ensure all Victorians have the skills they need for the future.
I am honoured to represent a diverse range of school communities across the government, independent, Catholic and Jewish sectors in Caulfield. Our schools are committed to achieving the best for their students and providing them with the greatest opportunities in life.
As a Member of Parliament, I have championed the needs of the sector, serving as Chair of the Education and Training Committee from 2011-2013. In this role I led a number of inquiries into the education of gifted and talented students, agricultural education and training and the benefits of music education in Victorian schools.

I believe that Victoria needs strong leadership to promote innovation and business growth that will provide better opportunities for young people.
I am passionate about supporting small business. I started my first business while still at school, and worked as a DJ at parties while studying at university – a business which grew into a successful event management company called ICE Events. I also founded and became Managing Director of The Body Collection, employing 50 staff supported by local manufacturing.
As a small business owner for many years, I know the challenges that entrepreneurs and their staff face. It is with this understanding that I will continue to create an environment for businesses to flourish, and advocate for policy which encourages innovation.
I am passionate about investing in our community spaces and having the community sector recognised and supported.
I’ve always believed that it’s important to make a difference to the community and not to take for granted the way of life we enjoy. Having co-founded the Ardoch Youth Foundation which provides education support for children and young people experiencing disadvantage, I believe in giving back to the community and helping others help themselves.
The not for profit sector and volunteers are crucial to our community in the causes they work so hard to improve. To recognise the important work volunteers do, I launched the Caulfield District Victoria Volunteer Awards.
